Description Blue Poison Dart Frogs are small (about two inches long) and bright blue. They have spots. Their skin is covered in a foul-tasting poison that is so strong it can kill a predator. No two frogs look the same. Diet In the rainforest, Blue Poison Dart Frogs mainly eat insects such as caterpillars, ants and beetles. They can also eat anthropods, small animals with an exoskeleton . Habitat Blue Poison Dart Frogs are mainly found in South America. They live in warm, humid areas of the rainforest in Surinam and, being amphibians, need to be near a source of water such as a stream. Though they can climb trees, they can usually be found on the ground. Adaptations The Blue Poison Dart Frog's bright blue skin acts as a warning to predators not to eat it, else be poisoned. Description The Scarlet Macaw is usually about 32 inches (81cm) long from head to tail. It has brightly coloured feathers and a curved beak. It's feet grip both the branches it sits on and nuts when it is feeding. Diet A variety of seeds and nuts found in the rainforest. Habitat The Scarlet Macaw lives in the Amazon Rainforest. Being a bird, if lives in the upper sections of the trees close the the canopy. You can see it in fight here or in the window below. Adaptations The Scarlet macaw's curved and powerful beak allows it to crack open nuts. This is made easier by its feet working like hands that a grip and manipulate the food it is holding.
