The Scarlet Macaw

Description The Scarlet Macaw is usually about 32 inches (81cm) long from head to tail. It has brightly coloured feathers and a curved beak. It's feet grip both the branches it sits on and nuts when it is feeding. Diet A variety of seeds and nuts found in the rainforest. Habitat The Scarlet Macaw lives in the Amazon Rainforest. Being a bird, if lives in the upper sections of the trees close the the canopy. You can see it in fight here  or in the window below. Adaptations The Scarlet macaw's curved and powerful beak allows it to crack open nuts. This is made easier by its feet working like hands that a grip and manipulate the food it is holding.
